For the Veritas AG, the protection of personal data is of the utmost importance. In addition to the  adherence to the legal provisions of data protection legislation, we commit ourselves to the responsible handling of your data with this privacy notice. The data collected via the website is collected, stored and used exclusively for our own purposes. It is important to us that you feel safe and comfortable when visiting our Internet pages. This Privacy Notice also describes your personal data protection rights, including a right to object to some of the processing that Honda carries out. More information about your rights, and how to exercise them, is set out below.

We may also provide you with additional information when we collect personal data, where we feel it would be helpful to provide relevant and timely information. Please skip to the end of the page for such additional Privacy Policies.

2 What is personal data?
Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person. An identifiable natural person is one who can be identified directly or indirectly, in particular by means of an identifier such as a name, customer number, location data, online identifier or special features. This includes information that you provide to us when you are contacting us, including your name, your telephone number if applicable, your address and all order data. Purely statistical data that we collect when you visit our websites is not included because we cannot associate it with your person.

3 What data do we collect?
3.1 Data you provide us with
3.1.1 For general inquiries

In the case of inquiries addressed to us, we process your name, contact data (e.g. telephone number, e-mail address and postal address) and all other information that you provide when filling out forms or other data fields on our website. This includes information you provide when you:

  • Submit a request for a specific product;
  • ask a question or give us feedback.

3.1.2 When buying products in our webshop
With the purchase of one of our products in our webshop you must register a customer account with us or log in to your existing customer account. When creating your customer account and processing your order, we process your name, address, e-mail address, telephone number if applicable, all  order data, bank and payment details and other financial information required when you order products through the Website.

3.1.3 With the sending of online application documents
If applicants submit application documents to us electronically, for example by e-mail or via a web form on our website, we process the applicant's personal data for the purpose of processing the application process.

Within Veritas, only those person that need your data to process your application will have access to it. Transfers to companies providing services under contract used by us may also receive data for these purposes if they maintain data secrecy and comply with our written data protection instructions.

3.2 General data which we collect when using this website
When you visit our website, a number of general data is collected and stored in log files. The website collects browser types and versions used, the operating system used by the accessing system, the website from which an accessing system accesses our website (so-called referrers), the resources you access, the date and time of access to the website, an Internet protocol address (IP address), the Internet service provider of the accessing system and other comparable data and information that enable us to avert dangers in the event of attacks on our website may be recorded.

When using this general data, we do not draw any conclusions about the person concerned. Said data is primarily required to correctly deliver the content of our website, to optimize the presentation of the content of our website, to ensure the permanent functionality of our website and in rare cases to provide law enforcement authorities with the information necessary for law enforcement in the event of a cyber attack.

This pseudonymous data is therefore evaluated by us both statistically and with the aim of increasing data protection and data security in order to ultimately ensure a sufficient level of protection for the personal data processed by us. The pseudonymous data of the server log files are stored separately from all personal data provided by a person concerned.

3.3 Data that we collect for the analysis of website usage and improvement by means of cookies or comparable analysis tools
We use cookies on this website. Cookies are text files which are stored on a computer system via your Internet browser.

Many cookies contain a so-called cookie ID, a unique identifier. It consists of a string of characters through which Internet pages and servers can be assigned to the specific Internet browser in which the cookie was stored. This enables the websites visited to distinguish the individual browser of a person concerned from other Internet browsers that contain other cookies. In addition also your anonymizated IP address, data regarding your operating system, Internet browser and further equipment details, like used resolution are collected. The purpose of this recognition is to provide users of this website with more user-friendly services, which would not be possible without the setting of cookies, e.g. a shopping basket is kept available via a cookie.

By means of a cookie, the information and offers on our website can be optimised in the interests of the user, also to make it easier for users to use our website.

The setting of cookies by our website can be prevented at any time by means of an appropriate setting in the Internet browser used and thus it’s use can be permanently rejected. Furthermore, cookies that have already been set can be deleted at any time via your Internet browser or other software programs. This is possible in all common Internet browsers. If the user blocks cookies in the Internet browser used, not all functions of our website may be fully usable under certain circumstances.

3.4 Use of Google Analytics
For the purpose of the needs-based design and continuous optimisation of our pages, we use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google Inc. on the basis of Art. 6 Para. 1 lit. f DSGVO. ("Google"). In this context, pseudonymised user profiles are created and cookies are used. The information generated by the cookie about your usage of this website, such as browser type/version, operating system used, referrer URL (previously visited page), host name of the accessing computer (IP address), time of server request, is transmitted to a Google server in the U.S. and stored there.

The information is used to evaluate the use of the website, to compile reports on website activities and to provide other services related to website and Internet use for market research purposes and to design these Internet pages in line with requirements. This information may also be transferred to third parties if this is required by law or if third parties process this data on behalf of third parties.

Under no circumstances will your IP address be merged with other Google data. The IP addresses are anonymized so that an matching is not possible (so-called IP masking). You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookie relating to your use of the website (including your IP address) and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing this browser add-  on. 3.5 Integration of third-party service and content 
Within the scope of our online offer we integrate content and services, such as videos or fonts (hereinafter uniformly referred to as "content") from third parties. This requires that the third-party providers of this content receive the IP address of the user, since they would not be able to send the content to their browser without the IP address. The IP address is therefore required for the presentation of this content. We make every effort to use only those contents whose respective providers only use the IP address to deliver the contents. 

The following presentation provides an overview of third-party providers and their contents, along with links to their data protection declarations, which contain further information on the processing of data and, in some cases already mentioned here, possible objections (so-called opt-out): External fonts from Google, Inc., ("Google Fonts"). 4 Where do we store your personal data?
With the use of this website, data will also be transferred to countries outside the European Economic Area ("EEA") within the framework of the data processing referred to in Section 3.d,e, insofar as no opt-out has been made by you. For this country, there is no adequacy decision of the EU Commission other than that there are no data protection provisions comparable with those of the EU (so-called third countries).

The company named in Section 3.d is certified under the EU-US Privacy Shield. Standard contractual  clauses adopted by the EU Commission also take effect and guarantee the persons concerned an adequate level of data protection, in particular legally binding and enforceable rights.

The remaining data processing takes place exclusively in the EU with recourse to contractually bound service providers who act on our behalf.

5 On what legal basis do we process your data?
We process the aforementioned personal data in accordance with the provisions of GDPR and the Federal Data Protection Act (BDSG):

5.1 For the performance of a contract (Article 6 (1) (b) DSGVO)
We process your data to process and execute product orders you have placed with Veritas via our website and for subsequent processing of questions and concerns, including subsequent warranties.

Your personal data will only be passed on to third parties or otherwise transmitted if this is necessary for the purpose of processing the contract or billing. Regarding the processing of your order, for example, the service providers used by us (such as transport service providers, logistic companies, banks) receive the necessary data for order and order processing. The data thus passed on shall only be used by these service providers for the performance of their task. Any other use of the information is not permitted and does not take place with any of the service providers entrusted by us.

For order processing we require your correct name, address and payment data. We need your e-mail address so that we can confirm receipt of your order and communicate with you. We also use these

We process the data that you have sent us in connection with your application in order to check your suitability for the position (or any other open positions in our company) and to carry out the application procedure in accordance with § 26 BDSG. 5.3 For legitimate business interests (Article 6 (1) (f) DSGVO)
Insofar as necessary, we process your data to safeguard the legitimate interests of us or third parties, insofar as you have not objected to the use of your data, for the following purposes

  • Statistical analyses of the use of our website, in order to design the website in accordance with your interests and to ensure that the content of our website is displayed in the best possible way for you and your computer (in particular processing in accordance with section 3.x);
  • integration of third-party content on our website to optimize our website experience
  • Assertion of legal claims and defence in legal disputes;
  • Ensure IT security, data protection control and data security;

6 Does the use of automated decision making or profiling take place?
In principle, we do not use fully automated decision making in accordance with Article 22 DSGVO. Should we use these procedures in individual cases, we will inform you of this separately if this is required by law.

7 Is the provision of personal data required by law or contract?
You are not obliged to provide us with the aforementioned personal data via the website.

8 Who receives my data?
In addition to service providers acting on our behalf and the aforementioned recipients, we may also disclose your personal information to third-parties if we are required to disclose or transfer your personal information to comply with a legal obligation or to protect the rights, property or safety of Veritas, our customers or others.

In order to process your data for the purposes described here, it may be necessary to disclose (or otherwise process) your personal data to one of our group companies or third parties.

9 Your rights as a data subject
Every person affected by our personal data processing has the right of access pursuant to Article 15 DSGVO, the right of rectification pursuant to Article 16 DSGVO, the right of cancellation pursuant to Article 17 DSGVO, the right of restriction of processing pursuant to Article 18 DSGVO, the right of objection pursuant to Article 21 DSGVO and the right of data transfer pursuant to Article 20 DSGVO. The restrictions according to §§ 34 and 35 BDSG apply to the right to information and the right to cancellation. In addition, there is a right of appeal to a data protection supervisory authority pursuant to Article 77 DSGVO in conjunction with § 19 BDSG.You are not obliged to provide us with the aforementioned personal data via the website.

10 Information about your right of objection according to article 21 DSGVO

10.1 Right of objection in individual cases
You have the right, for reasons arising from your particular situation, to object at any time to the processing of your personal data on the basis of Article 6 (1) f DSGVO (data processing on the basis of legitimate business interests); this also applies, where applicable, to profiling based on this provision within the meaning of Article 4 (4) DSGVO.

We also process your personal data in individual cases in order to maintain direct advertising. You also have the right to object at any time to the processing of personal data concerning you for the purpose of such advertising; this also applies to profiling insofar as it is connected with such direct marketing.

If you object, we will no longer process your personal data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds for the processing which override the interests, rights and freedoms of you or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims.

If you object to the processing for purposes of direct marketing, we will no longer process your personal data for these purposes.

11 Revocation of consents given
You may revoke a consent given to us at any time. This also applies to the revocation of declarations of consent given to us prior to the application of the EU Basic Data Protection Regulation, i.e. before 25 May 2018. The revocation of the consent does not affect the lawfulness of the processing carried out on the basis of the consent up to the revocation.
